How To Wear Purple: Make It Smoky!
Tuesday, January 28, 2014
Purple can be a tricky colour to sport - just like blues. You might be afraid of wearing them and I’ll be totally honest.. I am too! Colour takes a lot more gut to wear, definitely during daytime. Green eyes take purple eyeshadows really well, so when I got a little palette by BE Creative that contained a strong purple shade.. I knew what to do. I wanted to make it wearable, for anyone like me who’s afraid of purples but does want to venture into the colour.
The key to my look was pairing the purple colour with some neutrals from the Naked palette by Urban Decay. The colours Sin, Toasted & Hustle from the palette work really well with purples, so I used these to end up with a soft but still smoky eye that accentuates my green eyes. This might be a little too much to go to work with, but I’d definitely wear this for an evening or night out. I didn’t add any liner or kohl - I don’t think it’s always necessary and while I used to wear liner daily.. I’ve been refraining from that habit for some time now.
And while we’re at it and talking smokeys -a look that needs to be blended properly- I’d like to mention once again my deep love for the Lancôme Blending Shadow Brush. It’s so soft and delivers amazing results - it’s my favourite blending brush I own… And I do own a few!
The little BE Creative palette should still be available at Ici Paris XL in Belgium (it was a part of the Holidays collection and came in different colour editions), while the other products used are all permanent collection.
