Guerlain's Gorgeous Sun Celebration

Guerlain's Gorgeous Sun Celebration
Seriously. This Guerlain Sun Celebration Bronzer & Blush thing is one of the most beautiful bronzer/blush palettes e-ver. It doesn’t really look like a palette, but this compact holds three shades: one bronzer shade & two blush shades. The bronzer is a quite dark & pigmented brown shade with a good hint of orange that’s most noticeable on lighter skin tones; while the blushes are very different from each other containing a tangerine orange shade and a hot pink shade. All of them are matte - hallelujah! The pretty gold overspray will disappear after one or two uses - I even intentionally brushed it away as I did not feel for golden flecks on top of my bronzer. Admitted though - it looks gorgeous on first sight. The packaging & design overall is just super pretty, a true eye-catcher in this year’s Summer collections. Guerlain went all out on this one with a reason though: they’re celebrating 30 years of Terracotta.

Realising that Guerlain bronzers are quite heavy in pigmentation and often on the darker side, I went in quite soft at first using the bronzer shade on the places where’d you’d contour and add some depth. For this picture I used the pink blush on the apples of my cheeks, which turned the look quite frivolous and flushed. I definitely think that right now I’m too pale to sport the bronzer full-on during the day (I apply it VERY lightly now) - Winter has lasted much too long and I’m in definite need of a little sun TLC. I usually do turn one shade darker during Summer, which will make my pale skin (yep, I’m the NC15 kind) pair with this medium bronzer a lot better already. The whole palette is very warm & Summery - this really bronzes up your do. For date nights though, I’m already game. That’s the beauty of bronzer & blusher at night: you can go overboard and you’ll only look more lush.

While I’m at it I’d also like to show you these other newbies at Guerlain for the Summer: the Joli Teint foundations & this year’s new Aqua Allegoria in Limon Verde. I haven’t tried the foundations so I can’t really offer any advice on those, but I did smell this eau fraîche and have a cute mini sitting on my vanity table. It smells like a Caipirinha cocktail, how amazeballs is that?! I’m quite sure that fragrance can’t get any more fun than this. Thinking about perfumes that smell like booze (or excusez-moi, a fancy cocktail) - what I definitely need in life right now is a perfume that smells like a cucumber infused gin-tonic. Please Guerlain, consider this plea for the next edition. I’ll even wear it to work!

Guerlain’s Sun Celebration Star Sun Powder contains a massive 16 grams of product & retails for €70.00. Aqua Allegoria in Limon Verde comes in a 75ml bottle for €63.00 and a 125ml bottle for €87.00. That’s about 10 real life Caipirinha’s for huge bottle of Caipirinha fragrance. Minus the hangover..
