Strawberry Braid Delish

I really like simple recipes that end up looking complicated. This braid is just like that. I had some ready made puff pastry, fresh strawberries and a bit of strawberry jam laying around and came up with this baby. This should take no more than half an hour from preparations to finish.

What you’ll need:
 Puff pastry (ready or home made)
 Strawberry jam
 Fresh strawberries, washed and chopped into small pieces.
 One egg
 Brown sugar

Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface. This’ll make the braid easier to deal with when it’s finished. Place the jam and the freshly chopped strawberries in the middle. Be careful to leave enough space around the filling for the braid.


Then, cut even pieces on the sides and fold over the end of the braid. I like to double fold them so nothing goes wrong.


Then, start folding! Just place left over right until you reach the end.


Whisk an egg and lightly smear it onto the braid.


I also added some brown sugar. This is optional.


Then, bake anywhere between 10 and 20 minutes. Every oven is different, so just keep an eye on your braids. You should take them out when the top looks crispy light brown like this.

I reckon some freshly whipped cream would be amazing with this desert, especially when served hot.
