I hadn’t really discovered Dior’s J’Adore until I was invited by Dior to discover their Christmas collection (blogpost here) & discovered there was also a fragrance bar to discover the different kinds of J’Adore. There are currently five different versions of the signature scent available: the Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum, Voile de Parfum, L’Absolu and.. just in time for Christmas, Dior is presenting us their new J’Adore L’Or Essence de Parfum, created by François Demachy.

This new version holds only the very finest ingredients (as Christian Dior once said: “True luxury requires the highest level of ingredients quality and creation”); hence the name that hints at gold and all things pretty and luxurious. This golden version of the fragrance contains May Rose Absolute and Grasse Jasmine Absolute, taken from flowers harvested at the Domaine de Manon, where all flowers are exclusively reserved for Dior. The flowers have a very distinct and special character thanks to the unique climate at the domain, which is situated between the mountains & the sea. J’Adore L’Or also holds Tonka Bean Absolute, Indian Tuberose & Tahitian Vanilla Absolutes.

The packaging is as gorgeous as the perfume, with a bottle in the classic J’Adore shape and a golden cap with a neck decorated with golden threads. All hand crafted, it’s a true stunner. The detail is impeccable! Finally, to top it all off, the bottle doesn’t come in just a regular perfume box. It sits in a gorgeous couture gift box decorated a golden embossed Dior logo, wrapped in silk paper. Simple and elegant. And oh so timeless.
J’Adore L’Or is very warm, luxurious and feminine. I’ve been slowly learning to appreciate heavier perfumes over the past few years and this is one of those scents I’ve grown to absolutely love. It’s perfect for a special night out or whenever you need a little something extra to make you feel golden all day through. I will definitely be wearing this one during the holidays.
Dior J’Adore L’Or retails for €131,50 for 40ml.
