The Favourites of 2013 Edit

I’m quite late with these, just a few hours in time actually, but I had a hard time making my picks since I’ve loved quite some things in the past year. And not only that; I also went through a bit of a skin horror in 2013 as well. It’s been the year of a sudden hormonal acne outburst which kept me searching for anything that would help during at least half of the past year. If you’ve never had serious acne before and suddenly your face is aching all over.. You’re puzzled, let me tell you. My skin is back to its normal shape again luckily, but I still added my acne favourites in this article since I know so many of you end up here looking for the things that will help. These are.. The things I discovered & enjoyed using most in 2013!

The Favourites of 2013 Edit
ACNE FIGHTERS:
Avène Cleanance Mask: This is one killer mask for anyone fighting acne as it’ll dry out active acne, as well as tackle scar tissue. // Avène Triacnéal: The holy grail night treatment for active and dry acne. Full review here. // La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo: The perfect day treatment for acne skin, helps battle bacteria and unclogs pores. European version! Full review here.//  La Roche-Posay Serozinc: Toner spray with zinc that soothes skin irritations. Great addition to a two-toner skin care regimen! Full review here.

SKIN CARE BLISS:
Sampar So Much To Dew Day Cream:
Thought I could only get along with Kiehl’s Oil Free Moisturizing Lotion, but this one is perfect for combination skin as well. Moisturizes really well, but not too heavy.  // Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask: Smells like apricot and gives my skin an overnight hydration boost. Doesn’t break me out & leaves skin soft and plump. // Origins Out Of Trouble 10 Minute Mask: Whenever I feel like ‘something is up’ with my skin, I turn to this one to work some 10 minute magic. Cleanses thoroughly, removes dead skin cells & regulates sebum production. And all of that in 10 minutes! // Eve Lom Cleanser: Couldn’t help but hate the smell, but I love how it works, what it does & how it feels. I’m a balm cleanser convert! My skin has never been cleansed better. Full review here. // Rituals Sensational Soft Cleanser: If you’re not yet up for using balm cleansers, try this great gel to oil cleanser by Rituals. Smells amazing too! // Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair II: Sleep in a bottle! Whenever I know I won’t get enough sleep.. I turn to this baby. Full review here.

BODY TLC:
Crabtree & Evelyn Scrub Cleanser Citron, Honey & Coriander:
My partner in crime whenever I’m using foundations with too much staying power. Think Chanel’s CC. Won’t come off easily off the back of your hand with regular soap, but using this.. It takes a few seconds. Exfoliates your hands gently and smells like heaven. // The Body Shop Cranberry Shower Gel: I’m in love with all TBS shower gels, but this one is my very favourite. Such a pity it’s only sold during the holiday season! // Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream: The very best exfoliator out there! Use it in the shower with hot water for an awesome effect: the menthol scent frees up your airways and provides a spa-like experience. Very soft, not harsh at all, but effective! // &Other Stories Body Lotion Equatorial Dreams: THE SCENT! It’s the best body lotion I’ve smelled all year.

HAIR PAMPERING:
Ojon Restorative Pre-Cleansing Treatment:
Having discovered pre-cleansing treatments, I couldn’t pass on this one and it’s amazing! Almost all natural, prepares my locks for washing and conditioning and gives them an extra shot of hydration. // Philip Kingsley Elasticizer: The pre-cleanser that started my whole pre-cleanse craze.. It’s the best thing for dry and coarse hair since.. ever. Leaves locks shiny and soft an totally ready for anything! // Bumble and bumble Tonic Lotion: Saviour spray for itchy and flakey scalps. Spray onto your scalp after each wash for an instant soothing effect and long run benefits! Full review here. // Kérastase Resistance Volumifique Mousse: Protects against heat damage and gives curls no room to fall flat. This is the best mousse I’ve ever used for girls that have flat hair that usually won’t hold anything. I’ve been holding my curls for three days straight now. I know, right? // John Frieda Root Awakening Strength Infusing Shampoo: Budget proof and amazing for both my scalp and damaged locks.. There is no better combination. Full review here. // Shu Uemura Ultimate Remedy Extreme Restoration Treatment: Expensive, but totally worth it. Gives long and extremely damaged ends the care they need. Use once a week for awesome results!

The Favourites of 2013 Edit
HANDS & LIPS:
L’Occitane Hand Cream (all of them!): Best hand creams to take with you on the go, I buy them in loads of scents and switch them up as I fancy. // Rituals Miracle Balm: The best mid-range hand balm for very dry & chapped hands. Sinks in fast & isn’t sticky.  // Gourmandise Des Alpes Nourishing Lip Balm: I use this every night to keep my lips in good condition. Packaging looks boring, but it’s an almighty combo of beeswax, shea butter, raspberry oil & edelweiss. // Labello Vitamin Shake: Always in my purse for on the go, love the new scents and the subtle shine.

SIGNATURE SCENTS:
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire: Recent discovery but already in this list. Extremely feminine, but wearable at all times.  // Philosophy Pure Grace: Clean and lightweight, it’s perfect! // Givenchy Ange Ou Demon Le Secret: Outspokenly feminine and noticeable. Full review here.

TOOLS & CO:
Clarisonic Aria: Switched from a white Mia 2 to a pink Aria and stil love to use this twice a week for a deep exfoliating cleanse. Full review on the Mia 2 here. // Japonesque Brow Trimmer: Made trimming my brows so much easier. Couldn’t live without it. // Zoeva 142 Concealer Buffer brush: Best concealer brush ever, and it’s extremely budget friendly too! Full review here. // Dior Flat Angled Foundation brush: Best high end brush of the year, gives a perfect dense coverage. // Sigma Tapered Kabuki F86: Best budget brush of the year. Reaches all areas with ease because of the tapered end (such as nose) and leaves a perfect dense coverage.

MAC Cosmetics Paint Pots (all of them, especially Groundwork): My first year actually using these and can’t live without them anymore.
