Alright, time to get blogging properly again - I’ve slacked somewhat in the past weeks and I’ve missed you. I’ll try and produce more posts again in April, pinky swear! And is there a better way than to start with a post about new lipsticks? Lippies are a girl’s best friend - along with designer handbags and a good concealer, of course. Two weeks ago I was invited to discover the latest addition to the Estée Lauder lip family - the Pure Color Lip Envy lipsticks. They feel & look a whole lot different than their predecessors and there’s a huge shade range to choose from, so what’s up with these?
First of all it’s not hard to notice the new packaging: it’s a lot heavier, dark blue with gold touches and it has a magnetic click. Girls LOVE magnetic lipstick clicks! They feel quite moisturising and good news - the feeling sticks around for a few hours. These are most definitely not drying. The Estée Lauder girls explained that the formula contains encapsulated hyaluronic acid, which allows you to press your lips together for an instant re-moisturising kick. I am not too sure about how this (would) work, but it feels good either way. The pigmentation is super intense - no need to build up any colour with these.

I bought myself a new camera a couple of weeks ago - I’m still getting used to it so if you see any difference in my look/swatch pictures.. That’s why. I’m wearing the pinky nude shade Desirable in the first picture. It’s one of those notazombie-nudes, which is desirable with nude shades indeed. The second picture shows me applying Envious. Yep, it’s a horribly staged picture but I wanted to include it anyhow. It’s a truly gorgeous warm red that immediately takes care of that bit of extra oomph. The last picture is a pretty tired selfie (hey, work has been hectic!) of me wearing Powerful. Powerful is a pretty light pink with blue hues & is slightly brighter in person than in the picture. I love the finish of the lipstick: it’s not matte & not super shiny, but a lovely velvety kinda finish in between.

The Estée Lauder models did some smooching on paper for the launch of this new lipstick, so I kinda had to do the same. My kiss is Envious, just like Carolyn’s. And just how gorgeous is Insolent Plum that Joan was wearing? Little fun anecdote to accompany this picture: that stationary has been going strong since I was in college. For some reason I wanted to use it - perhaps I’m feeling a little nostalgic. Red lips go perfectly well with nostalgia, I think!
To top it all off Estée Lauder also revealed their new Belgian webshop. I’m placing an order with the webshop soonish and I’ll probably do a little post about the service, but I can already tell you that they stock MORE FOUNDATION SHADES than the counters carry!! Oops, sorry, got a little carried away there. But seriously! The Double Wear shade 2C3 in Fresco used to be the lightest shade available in Belgium, but now we have access to actual light shades like 1N1 Ivory Nude and 1C1 Cool Bone. I’m thanking the makeup heavens!
The Pure Color Envy Lipsticks retail for €33.00 & you can already find the full shade range on the new webshop, or in Estée Lauder counters. There are 20 regular shades you’ll find at any counter, but there’s also one webshop exclusive shade - a little extra they plan to implement with a lot of launches to boost the online shop.
