Anaïs Anaïs Premier Délice & some picture fun

Anaïs Anaïs
Cacharel’s Anaïs Anaïs - it’s a scent that makes you yearn for the eighties even though you weren’t born yet (well, for most of the eighties anyway). After the first two additions to the Anaïs Anaïs line (Eau Légère in 2006 & the Flower Edition in 2007), there’s now a completely new version available: Anaïs Anaïs Premier Délice. The result? A playful, fruity floral scent that dries down beautifully. It turns out to be the perfect adaptation of the powdery original for the young girls of today.

The top notes of Premier Délice are green pear, bergamot & orange; with middle notes of freesia, jasmine and white peonies, ending with base notes of cocoa, white musk, ambrox and cedarwood. It’s very wearable, quite long lasting (although you would need to touch up after work if you have plans to go out) with an almost edible drydown. It’s sweet, young and addictive. You can easily go on for days wearing this perfume without switching - and I’m usually quick to change.

Selfie fun with my dear friend Lisha from at the launch party in Paris, read more about that evening here.

For those who’re still reminiscing of those long lost eighties days, there’s some great news: Cacharel is also re-releasing the original perfume, suitably calling it Anaïs Anaïs L’Original from now on. Top notes are hyacinth, blackberry, honeysuckle & lavender; with heart notes of jasmine, rose & lily and base notes of musk, vetiver, patchouli & amber. It’s available in an eau de toilette, eau de parfum, body lotion & deodorant. Even though I can see how the scent became so popular, I like L’Original less than Eau Délice. It’s very powdery and dreamy - perhaps a little too powdery for me. Hey, fragrance is a very personal thing: I can tell you what the notes are & how I like it, but you have to sniff it for yourself in order to make up your mind. I do know though that my mom will be absolutely psyched to re-visit her early twenties with this iconic scent!

Anaïs Anaïs Premier Delice & L’Original are launching this month across Europe. In Belgium, both scents will be available exclusively in Ici Paris XL during the whole month of April. From May on, it’ll be available with other retailers to. A 30ml EDT bottle of Premier Délice retails for a very affordable €30.00, while 30ml of EDT L’Original retails for €35.00. They both come in bigger sizes of 50ml and 100ml as well - for the truly addicted.
