It was a love at first sight, a total coup de foudre. I went shopping in Rotterdam with two girlfriends this weekend, and right before heading home we discovered a little cosmetics shop in the building we were parked under. Nearing the shop I noticed some Bath & Body Works bags on display and then I saw the biggest surprise of all: a full display of all sorts of Bath & Body Works candles, and right behind it a few cabinets full of Victoria's Secret body products. The shop (named Chique Cosmétique) had sadly just closed, but I took my chance and waved to the shop owner who kindly reopened her doors for us so we could quickly browse around. I allowed myself one purchase, and it was not an easy choice..

A lot of the Fall scents were on display - think all sorts of pumpkin candles, but also Red Velvet Cupcake, Hot Buttered Rum and more of that goodness. I (not so quickly) settled for Pumpkin Cupcake, which was actually my very first pick when browsing. It had been on in the store that afternoon and I loved how the scent filled the room, while not being overly sweet. I mainly smell the pumpkin cupcake (not just pumpkin, it really smells like something freshly baked) with hints of cinnamon & nutmeg. One of our house guests this weekend thought I had freshly baked something, while it was just this candle burning.. I burn this in my living room with attached open kitchen and it fills the whole space easily. I absolutely love Bath & Body Works candles: they burn evenly, have a great scent throw and burn all the way to the bottom of the jar. And Pumpkin Cupcake is a great Autumn scent - warm, comforting and just a little sweet. Note to self: next time, I definitely need to visit during opening hours so I have more time to look at the rest of the store's collection. A shop to definitely re-visit!
