There's been loads of gold used in Winter collections this year, but no brand does it quite so exquisitely as Burberry. They gave their iconic checkered packaging a gold makeover for the occasion, which immediately makes this collection the most beautiful in terms of packaging I've seen this season. And then when you open the compacts.. They not only look stunning, but the highlighter smells gorgeous too! The powder is infused with the scent of the new fragrance My Burberry, which captures the scent of a London garden after the rain. I've been wearing this fragrance on & off the past months and still need to do a review, but I can already tell you that it's one of those compliment inducing scents. And when I played around with the beautiful eye palette, some serious makeup magic happened..

Being quite like an overexcited kid in a candy store, I had to instantly try out the lip products as I was curious about how Burberry would interpret gold lips. Luckily, they imagined it quite sheer and glowy, with some shimmer but not too much. Both the Lip Mist & Lip Glow in Gold are basically a golden glow in a tube, perfect to use during the day for a glowy, healthy, but not overly glittery look. The Burberry Gold Complete Eye Palette contains a selection of four shades that all lean more neutral/warm on my skin tone. There's a gorgeous warm medium brown, a beautiful deep golden bronze shade, an antique gold shade & a light gold shade. It's the perfect palette for a neutral look, but will also take you all the way to Christmas eve makeup because of the amazing pigmentation on these shadows. They all feel super buttery & smooth and are super easy to work with - this was my first introduction to Burberry eyeshadows and I'll admit that I have already been browsing their site to check out their single shadows. The Burberry Gold Glow Luminizing Powder is your perfect companion this year for a light golden glow. I should also add that this comes with a handy slim brush inside the velvet pouch it comes in, but I forgot to photograph it.

Don't mind the slight break-out I'm dealing with in the picture above - I had a bit of a reaction to a facial I had done two weeks ago.. Luckily while I'm typing this all has healed. I used all four shades of the eye shadow palette for this look. They blend so easily together, it's really easy to work with these! I also added a bold winged liner because it's just so festive and suits these shades really well. I used the Burberry Effortless Liquid Eyeliner and I'm not exaggerating when I say that it's the best eyeliner I have tried to date. I also used the Burberry Bold Lash Mascara, which is great when first applied but sadly does smudge towards the evening. A thorough article on these new eye products will follow soon! The eyeshadows last for a really long time, although I did add a base (a MAC paint pot) underneath. On my lips you can see the subtle glow of the gold Lip Mist. On my cheeks I'm wearing a new L'Oréal blush which I'll have to show you soon as I've been wearing it non-stop for two weeks, and of course the beautiful scented golden glowy highlighter from this Burberry collection. I would wear it sheerer for daytime looks though, in this picture I applied it quite generously. Overall I'm very excited about this collection and the quality of all of these products - it's just #wow. I will get a lot of wear out of these for sure!
