Dior's slowly taking over the number one spot in my favourite luxury makeup brands list. Quite a few of my daily staple products are by Dior and the list keeps on growing. I'm a big fan of their palest Nude bronzer, the pink Tie Dye blush hasn't left my daily go-to Muji drawer and their Cuir Cannage eyeshadow palette has been one of my favourite shadow quints of the past years. And there are similar warm feelings for the Dior Autumn collection "Cosmopolite" this year; it ticks a lot of boxes. There's also a bit of Belgian pride going on: this is Peter Philips' first full makeup collection since he became Dior Beauty's creative director. This collection is an ode to the Dior woman: it's very versatile and allows to experiment with many different types of looks. And of course it's also just plain pretty and wishlistable..

The whole shade range collection is a stunner on many different levels. It works for a neutral kinda gal like me (I seriously consider eggplant shades a neutral these days), but it's also beautifully electric and bold with metallic hues like whoa. In this post I'll mostly be focusing on the eye makeup as there's otherwise just way too much to feature in one go. For the eyes there are a few new palettes in this collection, as well as brand new Dior Addict Fluid Shadows. These are very metallic with a high shine - almost like an intense coloured varnish for the eyes. There are six shades in the collection, ranging from 'okay that's bold' to 'I might actually wear this to work'. The texture is a little hard to work with though - your best bet is to pat this on top of a look for some added shimmer (discovered this idea at Sunny's), or to wear quite sheer & blend it out with your finger. If you want to wear them opaque you need to apply them with the brush and wait patiently for the formula to dry completely. I have the shade Cosmic and it does belong to the 'okay daz bold' box.

I went for a pretty bold but still very wearable look with this palette: I used the nude shade all over my lids and applied the dark purple plum shade in the crease, blended out with the red plum shade. As you can see i didn't really blend out super seamlessly, but it doesn't really bother me. I absolutely love these plummy shades on my green eyes. So pretty! On my eyebrows you can see the Sourcils Poudre eyebrow pencil in the shade Dark Brown. This brown shade is too warm for my liking as I have cool tones in my brown hair, I'm a bigger fan of ash shades to do my eyebrows with. I accidentally applied it slightly outside my actual brow in beginning of my brow & there you can see quite well how warm it is. Apart from the mismatched shade it's a very pigmented pencil that applies easily and contains a good spoolie brush too. A free eyebrow pencil life lesson: never underestimate a good spoolie!
I'll be doing another post featuring the cheek & lip products that I received as they definitely deserve a separate write-up. Stay tuned!
