In Belgium we've been treated to an Indian Summer pretty much every year for the last five years. It's great: you get to reminisce about Summer in September, heading off to work in just a t-shirt and you're even still able to rock those almost-bare-foot-sandals. This year though: none of that. Summer ended pretty abruptly. Now you already know about how I've moved on and I'm now full time focusing on the imminent arrival of Autumn (AND CHRISTMAS!), but I get that you might be feeling a little blue. Fear not though: fragrance can transport you to other places, so here's my top three fragrances in the "let's just create our own Indian Summer"-category. You're welcome.
Elie Saab Le Parfum Resort Collection is a beautiful floral fruity fragrance that makes me reminisce about the time when I was fifteen and crazy about Ralph Lauren's fragrance "Ralph". Both fragrances have this fruity yummyness that just yells Summer - so juicy and addictive. Elie Saab's Le Parfum Resort Collection is a juicy beachy fragrance with top notes of fig & mandarin, heart notes of orange blossom, white jasmine & frangipani and base notes of amber and cedar. If life was a beach, this would be the fragrance to wear daily. Or in our case: the fragrance that'll cheer us up on those drizzly September mornings. Now excuse me while I wrap myself in Cote d'Azur memories..
Burberry Brit Rhythm Floral For Her is a juicy floral fragrance that isn't overly sweet, but still pretty addictive. I'd say it's a clean and fresh scent, but it's too juicy to be that - it's somewhere in between both and I find it perfect for this time of the year. The top notes feel fresh with accords of lemon and orange, the heart notes are Egyptian jasmine, lotus and lilac, and finally we have woods, amber and musk as base notes. It has a great longevity on me and is probably my favourite out of these three.
Marc Jacobs Daisy Sorbet is pretty yum as well and definitely the freshest of these three. It opens with juicy mandarin, apple blossom & lotus flower, continues with magnolia, jasmine and wet violet and ends with base notes of woods and musk. It's not an over-the-top fragrance so definitely on the safer side, but it's a great everyday fragrance to boost your spirit. And let's not ignore the bottle either: the design with the plastic flowers is so cute!
