After a little
face pic hiatus due to a cold that transformed my nose into one resembling that of Rudolph, I am back in full force with more of
Dior's autumn collection. We dove straight into the Eclectic quint in my
previous post on the collection and to start off this foggy Wednesday morning we'll be talking lipsticks & blush sticks. I'll be going over a few other autumn collections this week as well as I'd really like to get started on all things festive as soon as possible. As much as I'm in love with autumn and all the beautiful autumn colours, I've been longing for Christmas more than ever this year. I can just hardly wait any longer! But let me put aside my fondness for Christmas just a tiny bit longer, as these lippies & blushes Dior is doing for their Cosmopolite collection are waiting for their time to shine.

Dior's Cosmopolite collection is a
big one - it features so many products! The collection was definitely meant to be this big and versatile as it's an ode to the Dior woman who likes to experiment with different looks. It's the first full seasonal collection created by fellow Belgian Peter Philips and apart from a few
innovative and bold products that might not be everyone's cup of tea, there are also some safer picks in the collection that might be
safer but definitely not boring.

The sun was shining bright and was already positioned quite low while I was taking these pictures - unlike the swatch picture which was taken last month, so there's quite a warm cast on them. The lip colours however are pretty true to shade in all pictures -
worry not, my friend! Next to the lipsticks I am also wearing the
Diorblush Cheek Stick in Cosmopolite Rosewood on my cheeks. These cream blushes are super easy to use: I apply a few dots straight to my cheeks and then blend it out with a big stippling brush (
I use the big one by Yves Rocher). You could also apply it straight to the brush, but I find I have a little more control over the colour intensity if I apply a few small dots on the cheeks first. If needed you can always apply a little more. Cosmopolite Rosewood is definitely my shade for this time of the year as it adds a bit of warmth to my cheeks, Cosmopolite Pink is a very light pink blush and although it's a great shade for my pale skin, I'd rather use it during Summer time.
The
Fluid Stick in Avant Garde looks darker in the swatch than it actually does on my lips - it sheers out a lot and basically accentuates my natural lip colour and makes it a little deeper. If you're after a '
my lips but better' liquid lipstick, then this is the one for you. The
Rouge Dior in Unique is a beautiful red berry shade - I usually like a little more brown tones in my lipsticks, but this one is very timeless, classic and also just overall classy. The formula is very creamy and hydrating, which can be a little tricky with this shade as the colour tends to move around a little on the lips. As you can see in the picture: don't attempt to overdraw a little with this one. You need to be quite precise, so I'd recommend a good lip brush to map out where you'll be applying. A little fussy, so definitely not for those who like to quickly apply & go.
Rouge Dior in Voyageuse however is a lot less fussy being a very pale nude that is very forgiving when applied a little outside the lines. The colour also distributes evenly right from the start and also has that creamy, nourishing texture. It does wash my complexion out a little in pictures (notice how my blush is almost invisible?), but as an everyday lipstick for those of you who love nudes this one is pretty much perfect.
Final thoughts? I definitely feel like the
cheek sticks and the neutral/nude lip products are the true must-try's from this collection. These are so versatile and you'll get such good use out of them too - some seasonal purchases can be a splurge that is somewhat unnecessary and won't be pulled out of the vanity much, but these definitely tick the
everyday-use-box.
