➳ THE EYES
As NYE is the perfect occasion to go all out on your makeup, I opted for a super bold wing, the most beautiful rose gold glitter eyeshadow & big wispy lashes. On my lids I went in with Chanel's Illusion d'Ombre in Fatal first, added MAC Cosmetics' Haux in the crease and topped it off with LCN's Special Mono Eyeshadow in Spotlight on the moving eyelid. I also used MAC Cosmetics' Haux below the lower lashline, all the way from corner to corner to make the look come together. There's nothing more glamorous than a super bold wing, so that's exactly what I did using Maybelline's new Master Ink Satin liner. Give the bottle a good shake before getting started and you're good to go: the applicator is very easy and precise. There is also a matte version of this one which works even nicer and is very, very pigmented. To finish off the eye look I added Eyelure's Individual Lashes in the size medium. Individual lashes are super easy to work with (even for false lash novices) and look very natural as you're completely in charge of the placement and amount of lashes. These look super wispy! On my own lashes I used Helena Rubenstein's Lash Queen Fatal Blacks Mascara which is the best mascara I've tried this year, with on my bottom lashes MAC Cosmetics' Extended Play Lash Mascara as it has the perfect applicator for those tiny lashes and is waterproof.
➳ THE COMPLEXION
For my complexion I chose base products that photograph really well as you'll probably have some pictures taken to remember your epic NYE night. For foundation I used Yves Rocher's Flawless Finish Foundation. I do feel like it's quite visible on the skin and isn't very suited for an all day look as it doesn't always stay put on me, but for the evening it's a great option as it offers medium to full coverage, looks great on pictures and with a good base or setting spray it should get you through the night. I used Givenchy's new Teint Couture concealer in the shade 2 Dentelle Beige on my under eye circles which corrected the colours in the area, followed by NARS' Creamy Concealer in the shade Vanilla to further illuminate the area. I have a lot of darkness going on in the area, so I really need a lot of help to take away my natural zombie-esque look. I forgot to add my powder of choice in the picture: I used the Guerlain Météorites Voyage Enchanté as it looks weightless on the skin and adds a tiny bit of luminosity.
➳ THE CHEEKS, BROWS & LIPS
On my cheeks I am wearing Urban Decay's Naked Flushed palette in Native. I am in love with this! The bronzer is quite deep but still works fine on my pale skin, the blush looks very pink in the pan but on my cheeks turns a little deeper in colour in combination with that pretty bronzer. The highlighter is over the top but beautiful - I even wear it during daytime because why not, right? I tamed my brows using just the Anastasia Beverly Hills' Tinted Brow Gel in the shade Espresso, I have only recently started using this brow gel and I really like how it takes away the need for pencil underneath. The gel is quite pigmented and really allows you to redefine and fill in your brows (with light sideway strokes) with just this one product. On my lips I applied MAC Cosmetics' Lip Pencil in Spice, topped off with Bobbi Brown's Lip Gloss in Twilight. I also really like using MAC's lip liners on their own with just a little bit of a balm underneath to prevent dryness, but for this look I felt like we might as well add a little more shimmer. I know not everybody loves this kind of bold brown lip look, so feel free to replace the lips with a beautiful pink or plum colour as that would work really well too.
I'd finish off the look with a good setting spray to make it last as long as possible. I've been really liking Urban Decay's All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray, but if you want a super dewy look I can advise the Pixi by Petra Glow Mist as it'll make you glow like nothing else can! And with all this shimmer.. why not add a glow, right?
