Plump & Radiant Skin: Estée Lauder New Dimension

Estée Lauder New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum Review
I've been meaning to write about these for a long time now, but I just couldn't seem to catch up with time during the last months of 2015. Happily blogging a little more again now (I hope I can keep it up!) I'd like to talk about Estée Lauder's New Dimension range that released last year shortly after summer. Estée Lauder does serums really well (yes I am looking at you, ANR), so I was definitely intrigued when I heard that they were releasing a new serum within a brand new line focused on shaping. Shaping is all the buzz right now: from heavy contouring to strobing, everybody wants a chiseled face. So what if not only makeup could help you achieve that look, but skin care too?

Estée Lauder New Dimension Liquid Tape Review

Estée Lauder New Dimension
I think that I'm almost through the New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum completely now, which definitely shows how much I've loved using it. I've cheated on it a little bit to try new things (the life of a beauty blogger..), but I never kicked it out of my bathroom cupboard. The serum focuses on three visible aspects on the skin: dimension (volume), density (structure) and definition (structure). To gain more density the formula contains hyaluronic acid, filaggrine & lipids which plump the skin. They also soften the skin surface by stimulating the natural renewal of the skin. A pro-collagen complex makes skin look tighter and firmer - along with that plumping effect this should make your cheekbones a little more prominent. The skin also creates more elastin & fibronectin, which improves the elasticity & definition of your skin.

The serum is also really nicely scented (a little fresh, like cucumber) - a plus for those of you who like fragrance in skin care, but also a caution sign for anyone who doesn't like it. It's advertised that you can't use it around the eyes, but I have been doing so anyway. I haven't reacted badly to it and my under eye area can definitely use some plumping as I have hollow under eye circles - the hardest kind to conceal! I started seeing results after a couple of weeks, with the most noticeable changes around the eye and cheek bone area. Although Estée Lauder doesn't call this an anti-ageing serum, I would say that this serum is definitely targeted at anyone who's looking to diminish those first fine lines, combat dull skin or refine rougher textured areas of your skin. Although maybe it's a good thing that we don't act as though this serum would "combat" ageing, because there's nothing wrong with growing older.

Next to the serum another spiffy little product launched called New Dimension Expert Liquid Tape. The name alone is a true attention-grabber. I mean: liquid tape? This is designed to use on your cheekbones and on the area around your eyes for an immediate tightening effect. Just apply a small amount to dry skin and hold for 3 seconds. Fast-acting polymers will tighten the area visibly instantly, while hylaronic acid & a pro-collagen complex will tighten skin in the long run. It's a fun product that does have a certain immediate effect (don't expect any surgery-like miracles though), but it's tricky to use underneath makeup. You really need to pat any further skin care or makeup on in order not to disturb that little layer of 'liquid tape'. I haven't used it enough to comment about its long term effects though.

Out of both products it's definitely the serum that I'd recommend the most. Agreed - there's not a lot to lift on my 28 year old skin yet, but I love the hydrating and visibly plumping effects of the serum. It's pricey, but it's potent.
