MAC Cosmetics & Charlotte Olympia do Retro Rouge

MAC Cosmetics Charlotte Olympia
I'm back with more MAC newness - this update is too beautiful not to properly share. The Charlotte Olympia x MAC Cosmetics collection is a special launch beauty fiends have been eagerly looking forward to since it was first announced. Think old school Hollywood glamour, pin-up reds & very pretty customised packaging.

I love collections with special packaging the most, I wish more collections would get their own matching packaging theme! This Charlotte Olympia collection features lots of gold, spiderweb details, rectangular shapes & clear caps - it's quite customised and doesn't really resemble any of MAC's regular packaging. And not only the make-up itself is themed, the boxes also got a pretty print. I don't have pictures of those as my lipstick came without a box, but you can view them on another blog here. There's also a very pretty themed makeup bag in the collection that resembles the one I photographed here - it's just a little smaller, with white & green accents. The mani/pedi sandals are sadly not available anymore, but just how super cute are they? They're a little too small for my feet, but they obviously got a special spot in our study (read: my beauty and blogging room)!

Wearing the MAC Cosmetics x Charlotte Olympia lipstick in Retro Rouge
All three lipsticks in the collection are red - true old Hollywood style - and there looks to be a shade of red for anyone's style. I got 'Retro Rouge', a very pretty deep matte brown red shade that actually suits me really well. You know I don't really wear red lipstick, but this one I'd definitely wear without hesitating. This is a matte formula that is very pigmented and easy to apply. I have very dry lips and they're often accentuated by matte formulas, but this one does a pretty good job. It doesn't feel drying, but it doesn't feel super comfortable and hydrating either. I'd definitely advise to hydrate your lips well before & after if you're wearing it regularly. The colour lasts a good few hours (four to five) on a regular day, but doesn't survive a meal completely.

The Charlotte Olympia collection is now available in MAC Cosmetics stores & webshop and I think the most popular products will be selling out fast as there's been a good bit of buzz around it. Retro Rouge has already sold out online - so I'd quickly phone your local MAC store if you're after it!
