If you're one of those girls or boys who aren't a big fan of those typical autumn/winter mani colours (
think khaki, grey, blackened reds, black, ..), then you'll love
Orly's spring collection for sure. It's about as colourful as it gets! This collection - dubbed the
Melrose collection - is inspired by the Melrose district in LA which offers a mix of posh designer stores, hipster shops and great restaurants. It'd take me about 13 hours to fly to LA from Brussels, but this mani only needs about fifteen minutes.

The Orly bottles come with a handy
rubber cap that has an easy grip for easier application. I hadn't ever tried Orly's regular nail polish (my only Orly experience is with their
Color Amp'd varnish), so I was very curious to try out the brush and formula. Orly used to be one of those '
only in America'-brands, but they are now easily available at
Di stores in Belgium. There are six shades in the Melrose collection, ranging from holo glitter to cream finishes.

There are some real stunner spring friendly shades here & if you'd ask me for my favourite, I'd definitely advise you to try out the pretty baby pink shade
Beautifully Bizarre which has a slight pearl effect to it . I also feel strangely drawn to
Hip & Outlandish, although I never really wear anything green on my nails.
Feel The Funk is a fun addition to any glitter lover's collection, although I must admit that I've grown a little tired of glitter on my nails.
Trendy unfortunately underperforms with a formula that just won't dry - not sure what went wrong there. The other polishes apply easily and don't seem to chip too quickly, although you know I can't really comment on that since my nails are pretty much in a permanent bad state.
All shades are also available in the
Smartgel formula. I've recently been thinking about investing in a DIY gel mani kit, hoping it'd prolong my manicures.. I only wish there'd be a system that allows you to combine regular nail polishes with a gel top coat. If you know of anything like that: let me know!
